The Two Distinct Flavors of Commerce Platforms

Every day at commercetools we see RFPs from prospective customers that we scratch our heads at. It’s 2018, but many are still looking for a commerce platform like it’s 1998 or 2008. There are hundreds, if not thousands of questions asking if we support advanced analytical capabilities, if we can power an enormous call center, or if we can serve as a hub for all marketing activities. It’s like asking your car dealer if the car you’re looking at will do your grocery shopping and make you your meal too.
